Shoes¶
Basic Method¶
- Add shoe-tree
- Take out laces
- Water & soap solution into bowl
- Scrub with soft-bristle brush
- Move to medium-bristle brush, continue to scrub mid sole
- Move to stiff-bristle brush, for out-sole / bottom
- Dunk laces into soap solution, rub together with hands
- Throw everything in laundry bag (cold water, air-dry)
For cloth & canvas: Baking soda solution¶
- Mix equal parts baking soda and water in a small container until a paste forms.
- Use an bush to scrub shoes
- Rinse paste off with cool running water
- Wipe off with towel
For leather sandals: Vinegar and water solution¶
- Mix equal parts water and distilled white vinegar
- Use brush to scrub shoes
- Let dry
- Apply leather conditioner
For suede sandals: Rubbing alcohol and stand-paper¶
NOTE: Water stains suede
- Alcohol dipped cotton ball on stains
- Sand suede with fine-grit sandpaper
