Using peanut butter was a challenge, there was a lot of

Ingredients¶
- 16 oz. creamy, all natural peanut butter
- 750 ml bottle of bourbon
Directions¶
- Drain the oil away from one 16-ounce jar of creamy, all-natural peanut butter, then spread the peanut butter in an even layer over the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pour one 750-ml bottle of bourbon over the peanut butter and cover with plastic wrap.
- Set aside at room temperature for 24 hours.
- Line a fine strainer with cheesecloth or a coffee filter and set over a bowl.
- Strain the bourbon, then use a funnel to return it to the bottle

With stronger-flavored fats
- 120 grams (4 ounces) of fat per
- 750 ml of liquor
With butter I use
- 240 grams (8 ounces) per
- 750 ml
Directions¶
- Add the fat to your liquor in a wide-mouth container, close it, and shake the container
- Let the liquor rest an hour or so, agitating every once in a while for the first half hour
- Place the container of liquor and fat in the freezer
- Once the fat has solidified, poke a hole through it, pour liquor out (~2 hours in freezer)
- Strain liquid through coffee filter
Note If fat does not solidify, you can use a gravy separator
